The College

Mount Saint Mary College is a private, four-year liberal arts college for men and women founded in 1960 by the Dominican Sisters of Newburgh.

The College has set the goal of preparing its students, within the environment of a small, independent, undergraduate college, to assume, by choice and preparation, their roles in an ever-changing cultural, intellectual, psychological, and social climate. According to the plan of its founders and the aims of the total college community, Mount Saint Mary College strives to produce alumni marked by intellectual acuity and professional competence who possess constructive attitudes toward the challenges of living in the world of their times. Social programs, such as dances and other intercollegiate events, are held frequently in conjunction with neighboring colleges and the Military Academy at West Point.
